Canton Paradise @ JCube

I have been craving for Dim Sum for a long time, today my daddy wanted to introduce us one of his favorite places to dine recently, the Canton Paradise. We decided to visit the outlet at Jcube for lunch.
Canton Paradise @ JCube
2 Jurong East Central 1
#02-09, JCube
Singapore 609731

Business Hours
Mon – Fri 11.00am – 10.00pm (last order at 9.30pm)
Sat, Sun & PH 10.30am – 10.00pm (last order at 9.30pm)

The purple Menu suits the restaurant's interior design, nice~

Salted Roast Peanuts

Steamed Shanghai Pork Dumpling (4 pcs) SG$4.80

These are known as Xiao Lao Bao "小笼包", minced meat ingredients filled in the dumpling and when you bite in your mouth, the soup in the dumpling will burst all over, so close your mouth while biting it. =X

Ok, their XiaoLaoBao was so so, not up to expected standard. Skin not thin enough and soup in the dumpling was quite little, did not have the "Wow pop feeling"~

Steamed Chicken Claw with Black Bean SG$3.90

My parents love chicken claws... Hmm not a fan, may be I will try my first chicken claw in future~ >_<

My dad loves it and he finished the whole plate..

Steamed Cheong-fun with Honey BBQ Pork filling SG$4.50

The Cheong-fun is always a great dim sum dishes for everyone, from old to adult, and kids favorite all time. Their Cheong-fun was really not bad especially the very smooth texture of the skin, ingredients not bad too but taste was not enough. =X

Crispy BBQ Honey Pork Bun SG$4.80

I really thought that oh boy... Another Honey Pork(Char Siew) bun again, I am really not a fan of Honey Pork buns for years, because it's always very sweet and same Honey Pork ingredients in a bun... Boring... But!!!

Wow, I have eaten crispy bun concept of Honey Pork Bun but didn't realized the Canton Paradise's Crispy Bun was so delicious... What a new great crispy bun, you got to try this yummy... Everything on this Crispy BBQ Honey Pork Bun was so well matched, not too sweet and the crispy skin together gives a kick~ =D

Combination Congee (3 varieties) SG$8.80
*Selection: Grass Carp Sliced Fish, Meatball, Softbone Meatball, Shredded Pork, Century Egg, Pig's Kidney, Pig's Liver, Pig's Stomach, Chicken or Sliced Beef

I love the concept of any choice you like to choose for your congee(porridge), I picked Meatball, Century Egg and Chicken in my congee.

The congee was very smooth tasted not bad too, surprisingly their chicken was marinated so well and texture was so soft and delicious. I should had taken out and show you all as it's hidden beneath~ Ok the meatballs are so delicious.. Their in house meatballs, so "Q" but only 2 pcs~ T_T Wow great, and the congee portion was so huge!! I can't finished myself alone, need 2 more people to help. +_+~

Signature Canton Jumbo Prawn Wanton Noodle (Dry) SG$8.30

The taste was pretty normal total there're 4 prawn wanton dumplings, disappointing of it's presentation of the noodle, they buried the prawn wanton dumplings below the noodle, I need to use chopsticks and managed to pick up 2 to take a picture of it~

Spinach with Egg Trio SG$13.80

First, this dish presentation looks like some unwanted ingredients dumped away.. +_+~~
I am not a fan of this dish, 3 eggs (Salted Egg York, Century Egg, Egg) with minced pork and Spinach. It's funny this dish is well known in local for the recent few years time, and the trend of salted egg yorks have been formulated in many dishes too...

BBQ Combination (3 varieties) SG$22.80

We picked Roast Pork, Roasted Duck Breast and BBQ Honey Pork. Duck Breast was delicious, juicy and tender. BBQ Honey Pork great for those who dislike too sweet and the Roast Pork was really normal.

Crisp-fried Crystal Prawns tossed with Salted Egg York SG$16.80

I wish there're more prawns~~ Nothing will go wrong with fried prawns, yummy and I wish there's rice to eat with~ Haha... =X

Mango Pureé with Sago and Pomelo SG$4.50

I personally love this dessert, mango bits are hidden below. Not too sweet and I can taste the milky texture of the pureé, if not so watery it will be a perfect mango pureé.

Chilled Red Bean and Yam Pastry SG$3.90

The dessert is very refreshing, red bean and yam makes a great combination, learned a lesson today~ Love the taste which is not too sweet and color of the pretty pastel purple yam portion.

Overall, the food tasted ok some are great some are so so. Will definitely visit again and try other dishes and dim sum~ Service was not bad and the food served pretty fast. =)

Total we spent around $117 inclusive of service charge and gst.

Wishing all Dearies to enjoy more of Year 2012

P.S. I do not really eat pork, but you are definitely tempting me to try it more often. Haha. Mm.. Crispy BBQ Honey Pork Buns~. I will have 'sweet dreams' tonight. ;P

  13. Oh my goodness, this wonderful food post has me starving! Even though we have pretty good dim sum places here in San Francisco and down in LA, I feel like it's nothing compared to the real deal over in Asia! Taiwan has THE BEST xiaolongbao (my personal favorite!) and I love cheong-fun, yum! Also, my other favorite is char siu bao, but I've never had crispy ones! Love this awesome post! :)
